About the Library

The mission of the Illinois Central College Library is to empower lifelong learning, cultivate information literacy, break down barriers to information, and foster belonging by representing the world and its cultures.

On Reserve

Does the Library have my textbook?

Faculty members may place items (textbooks, DVDs, software, etc.) used in class on reserve in the library for student use.

Loan Periods and Restrictions

Reserve items circulate for a time period designated by the faculty member.  Loan periods include 2 hours, 2 days, 7 days, and 14 days. The most popular is 2-hour in-library use.

Reserve items are generally available for 2-hour in-library use only.  A few items have longer checkout periods and may be used outside the library. Instructors can place textbooks and other class materials on reserve for student use, however not all textbooks used at ICC are on reserve in the library.

Students must present their college ID to check out reserve items.

Each campus library has a unique collection of textbook reserve items.
